Video and Audio

Video Resources in Economics

There is a burgeoning supply of video and audio resources available on the Internet relevant to Economics teachers. These range from news and current affairs clips to multimedia web sites built to support offline TV programs.

The development of easy to use video editing programs and presentation software means that some of these resources may be used in student assignments and teacher presentations.

Sometimes accessing and using these resources may be difficult. In this section you will find a selection of sites providing this kind of content, software and tutorials you can use to complete these activities and some sample student activities.

Video Resources on The Net

Here are links to television and radio stations where you will find current Video and Audio files. Some of these you will be able to download directly to your computer others you may not. This sections focuses almost exclusively on Australia. Teachers should note that world news providers also offer similar resources on their web sites.

Web Specials

Web specials refer to special feature web sites that incorporate, text sound and often video. Many of these are produced by the teams of popular programs to support their real time programs. Four Corner regularly produces web specials on topical issues. Examples are Nuclear power and Australia's water crisis. These are excellent resources to use with students.

Video Powerpoint and Producer Activities

Video and Audio files are large and hence I do not keep large collections of them online. The result is that you will only find the material I am currently using in this section. The activity templates I will leave here for future reference for teachers however the supporting resources will be removed.
